Nearby airports with scheduled service are in Mattoon and Decatur, with seaplane landing available directly on Lake Shelbyville. Amtrak service is provided through Mattoon. For private planes, there is service available at Shelby County Airport in Shelbyville. Pickup service is available.
From Chicago or Champaign-Urbana Via I-57
Take I-57 south. Exit on 192 (County
Highway 18). Turn right at the top of the ramp, going west.
Proceed through the next two four-way stops. Cross IL 121,
you will see large grain bins on the south side of the tracks.
Continue going West approx. 7 miles, you will come to a stop
sign. There will be a gas station on the right. Continue
straight, crossing over IL 32. You will continue for
approx. 6 more miles. You will come to the Findlay Bridge
crossing over Lake Shelbyville. Approx. 2 miles after the
bridge, turn left at the Eagle Creek State Park sign. Follow
the large brown signs through the park to the resort.
From Chicago Via I-55
Take I-55 south to Rt. 51 south (at Bloomington) to Decatur, stay on Rt. 51 south through Decatur and continue south to Assumption (approximately 20 miles south of Decatur). Turn left at 1200 N. Avenue (first intersection in Assumption). Proceed about 11 miles east, past Rt. 128 into Findlay. Go through Findlay and turn right 3/4 of a miles past the railroad tracks. There will be a large brown sign marking the turn. Follow the signs through the park to the resort.
From St. Louis
Take I-70 east to Vandalia, exit at Vandalia. Get on Rt. 51 north to Assumption (approximately 38 miles north of Vandalia). Turn right at 1200 N. Avenue (last intersection in Assumption). Proceed about 11 miles east, past Rt. 128 into Findlay. Go through Findlay and turn right 3/4 of a miles past the railroad tracks. There will be a large brown sign marking the turn. Follow the signs through the park to the resort.
From Indianapolis
Take I-74 to Champaign, IL. At Champaign , turn on I-57 to Mattoon, take Route 16 West. Follow the Route 16 signs through until you come to the little town of Windsor. Turn Right (north) on route 32. Watch for the brown Eagle Creek State Park Sign - make a left turn on Findlay/Bruce road, keep going West, you will cross over the lake . Make a left turn and follow the brown signs back to the resort.
From Springfield
Take Rt. 29 through Taylorville to County Road 6, east to Assumption. Go past Rt. 51, (stop sign) and proceed about 11 miles east, past Rt. 128 into Findlay. Go through Findlay and turn right 3/4 of a miles past the railroad tracks. There will be a large brown sign marking the turn. Follow the signs through the park to the resort.
From Decatur Airport.
Turn left on Airport Road and go south through Mt. Zion on Rt. 121 to Dalton City. Turn right onto Rt. 128 and proceed south to Findlay turnoff and turn left. Go through Findlay and turn right 3/4 of a miles past the railroad tracks. There will be a large brown sign marking the turn. Follow the signs through the park to the resort.
From Rockford, Peoria or Bloomington via Rt. 51
Take I-55 south to Rt. 51 south (at Bloomington) to Decatur, stay on Rt. 51 south through Decatur and continue south to Assumption (approximately 20 miles south of Decatur). Turn left at 1200 N.
